A little humorous truth

Being a Woman is HARD Work!

Lakota getting ready for a formal party last Friday:
1. shower, shave legs, shampoo, conditioning
2. pre-gel wet hair
3. pull out all formal dresses and matching shoes and try them all on then dig into the back of the closet to see if you missed anything really cool because you remember buying a black beaded fringe top that might be better than anything thrown across the bed
4. pick final four choices and try them all on again to make sure with the shoes
5. pick out lingerie that matches the cut of the dress and thigh highs... silk or lace? silk...no lace... no silk...
6. try on final choice one more time to make sure and then set it to the side
7. lotion body
8. paint fingernails and toenails in color that offsets the black outfit just right - not too pink, not slut red for a formal event
9. wait for it to dry and check emails, trying not to smudge the polish
10. dig thru five tons of makeup to find the right shades of lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush, foundation and mascara to match the outfit.
11. apply makeup
12. blowdry and style hair using ozone destroying amounts of spray to hold it in place
13. put on the lingerie
14. pull on the stockings
15. rip the stockings
16. find a new pair and put those on
17. look at the clock and realize you're running behind but that's okay because you can NOT show up early
18. carefully pull on the formal skirt and beaded top and slip on the black heels
19. check it out in the mirror and realize it's what you wore two parties ago
20. panick and pull clothes off and grab the nearest ballgown and put it on
21. check it out in the mirror...ohhh - that looks pretty damn good, turning around and peering at ass in mirror to make sure it doesn't look bigger than it should
22. grab clutch purse and throw in lipstick, keys, power, drivers license and cash
23. almost twist ankle racing to the door (who invented heels by the way?)
24. hop into the car and drive ten miles over the speed limit hoping there aren't any police waiting to grab you because now you're going to be unfashionably late.
25. stroll into the party look calm and not like you just expended ridiculous amounts of energy and effort

I've spared you all the moodiness of my recent sucky attitude - you may thank me by ALL returning, giving me hugz and kisses and letting me feel the lurv. :D
No really, I've been a for shit blogger and I'm sorry... line for spanking me forms right over there, stage left... or is that stage right?

Gonna do better and make sure i hop around again on a regular basis. Even if i have nothing of substance to post here, i can at least make a nuisance of myself at your places. Oh wait - i never had anything of substance posted here... what was i worried about?

I have been going out and hanging with friends more which is good. Went to a gala last weekend all dressed in formal wear and that ended up being fun. Tonight I'm going to listen to some local bands at a special "invite only" event (whatever THAT means - are they trying to keep the riff-raff out? If so, how did i get an invite? :P)

Working on art and writing when i'm not working, which is a good thing. I'm toying with taking my visual art in a new direction. That is actually a lot scarier than you can imagine. Once you develop a certain "artist identity" changing directions can be disasterous.
Anyway - here's a pretty visual for Mikey (no this is NOT my boob but you can pretend it is if you want) just a gorgeous photo i found that made me think of him. :D

creatively disconnected

Apologies for being so quiet the past several days. I've been feeling out of sorts, uninspired and creatively dead. I couldn't even come up with entertaining conversation. That is so not like me.

A friend told me it's probably the psychological/emotional drop from being so insanely busy. He's probably right.

It may also be due to realizing that after busting ass for several months, I have nothing to really show for it. The cost of everything shot up so high, and several of my photography clients have come to me saying their "cash flow" sucks, so now my bank account is more strapped than before I went thru the madness. The last one that called me on monday to complain about "cash flow" got this response: "Yes, I know exactly what you mean because your cash flow problem is giving me a cash flow problem." Asshat. I left that last part off. I would like to get paid someday. ~sigh~

i did do a pretty cool drawing... it was more an exercise than anything truly creative though.

Showing my Ass... no really... SHOWING MY ASS!

Last night I had another photoshoot - a three hour event in a location with two floors, packed with hundreds and hundreds (and freaking hundreds) of people. It's always a grueling shoot, trying to get the necessary photos for the client in a finite amount of time... and it's always HOT - racing around with my photo-assistant scrambling behind me. To help with the heat factor I decided to dress in a gauzy floor-length gypsy skirt and camisole to help keep me cool.

Toward the end of the evening I let my assistant go since I was nearly done and the poor darling was exhausted from chasing me all over the place. I got on the escalator to ride it down to the first floor to catch a few more photos of the bands down there and... the back of my skirt got sucked into the escalator step. It yanked the back of my skirt down past my ass, baring my butt to everyone. Why oh why did i wear a thong last night instead of good girl panties? >_<

I ripped the skirt free and hauled the elastic waist back up over my ass, juggling my camera and camera bag and yelling very unlady-like words. Something akin to M**ther-F**king-Sh*t-Son of a B*tch! Yeah... those were the words as I recall. Nicely professional.

The lady on the escalator behind me was laughing and said "If I'd had my cellphone camera out I could have made a fortune with that shot!"

Bitch.

Ruined a perfectly good skirt too. ~sulking~

Note to self: do not wear long skirts on photoshoots.

And burn my thongs.

Getting My Groove Back

First off, i had to put up a new post immediately so i could bump that ANNOYING jelly belly stripper down. I wanted to cover my eyes everytime I came back to my own blog. But it was worth it - celebrating Woozie's birthday was a big deal and something I had planned for most of the year. Glad I slid out of the nightmare in time to throw him a party. :D

Still dealing with post project catchup and scrambling to dodge bullets with tasks that were bumped and now need attention - but it'z all good. The huge pressure is off for the most part. Have two of the B&W&Red series prints in a show: this one is my fave and had people oohing and ahhing at the opening. I'm such a shoe 'ho. Okay - off to work but i'll be back by tonight and run by some more blogs. ~muwahh!~

Playing Blog Catchup

I'm so far behind on reading blogs that i'll probably never be able to catch up on back readings - if there was something in particular you think would amuse or interest me that you've posted in the past 2 months put a link here please. I'm going to attack the catchup by visiting those of you first who left notes in my absence and made me feel the lurv. You have no idea how much i appreciate that. Let's see.... a few of the recent highlights...

I had a total "Oh Shit" moment last weekend when i socked a Police Officer in the stomach. As soon as I did it I remembered that you aren't supposed to do that even goofing around - touching an officer while he's on duty can get you handcuffed and thrown up against the patrol car. Hmmmm.... NO, really, I didn't do it for that reason! He was teasing me. Fortunately the officer is a long time acquaintance that knows me from my photoshoots so he just laughed, especially when my eyes got HUGE and I started patting his tummy, apologizing. "Please don't arrest me Mr. Officer - I waz just playing!" LOL! I'm such a 'tard sometimes.

Kali readers will remember the visit from the Diva earlier this year. She came back for an unexpected, unanticipated and really sucky-timed visit a few weeks ago. Right in the middle of the madness and my presence was requested for her birthday celebration. Oye. I had to race over to meet with her and her family and friends (with camera of course) at a fancy restaurant right after i finished a grueling photoshoot in skin-melting heat. I'm being kind when i say i didn't look my best. Somewhat like a melted puddle of Kota and not in that fun after glow way neither.
Dinner with her was nice as always and they gave her framed pictures from the last shoot i'd done of her in the spring. That made me preen in all my sweaty, limp-haired glory.

Lakota Princess readers may recall the really hot waiter I met last January that i was all drooly over back then... I saw him that same night and he pulled me aside so we chatted for awhile. (Surprising since I really did look like a mess.) He asked me out but I was surprised to discover that even though he was still total eyecandy, he just didn't interest me...not in the slightest. No little sparklies inside from his hot smoldering latino looks. Zip. Nada. Either I'm broke from overworking or my tastes have changed. ~frowning in concern~

It can't be a broken libido because trust me - my B.O.B. can attest to all parts and pieces are still functioning quite normally... though he didn't get the usual number of workouts during the last two months. It's not a myth - there really is a such thing as being too tired. Who knew. :D

Okay - enough babble chatter for the moment.... time to run around to some of your blogs and pounce. Mmmmm..... can't wait!

Tomorrow night my internship in hell comes to an end. There is still the followup work and the catchup work but nothing like what i have been busting my ass doing. Coming back just in time to celebrate Woozie's long awaited birthday. (No way did i forget Wooze! I have a count down calendar to the date on my computer! LOL!) Birthday wahoo coming up!

I've been soooo bad....

i've been so bad that i'm certain i deserve a spanking. Any takers? One condition. I get to spank you back... eventually.
Work is gearing up again... August kicks off the busiest season of the year and usually lasts until October, then lulls for a few weeks (okay, sometimes it skips the lull but i remain optimistic) and kicks back in until the holiday season is over. I'm tired just looking at madness to come. But hey - at least i have work, right?

I Hatez Them

sonofabitch cellphone providers that manufacture forshit equipment then laugh at you when it breaks less than two months after you buy it. i hatez them. i'm so mad i'm shoving their fucking contract up their slimey asses and paying more to take my account elsewhere... where i will no doubt have to bend over and take it up mine again in a few months. i hatez them all.

Facebook = Funny

I've been building my author network on facebook, which is turning out to be a pretty interesting tool. It's letting me gather together old friends and new, and a few... well, unexpected ones as well. Such as Johnny Depp. Isn't that a hoot? Pffft - I don't care if it is really him or not - it tickled me silly this morning to see him as a "friend."

It's a fabulous tool for promotion I've discovered. One of my longtime friends has released a book today and i was able to do a shout out in one keystroke without depending on everyone i knew to pop by my writing blog and read about it. Sweet.

It also let's me auto-track updates at organizations like writing conventions, book sellers, authors i know - stuff like that. For someone with little (read that as NONE) time management skills, it's HUGE!
Plus i get to attack peoples with my werewolf.
Life is good.

Oh and quickie note regarding comment left yesterday - apparently there may be some confusion regarding my possibly being another blogger, BB or LA. Umm. No. Sorry.

Judge returns gray wolf to endangered-species list
A federal judge in Montana has restored protection to gray wolves in Northern Rockies. They were taken off the endangered-species list March 28 after federal officials said the species — once hunted, poisoned or trapped to the verge of extinction — was "thriving."
The order, by U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy, is expected to halt public hunts being planned by officials in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho.
The National Resources Defense Council claims that 106 gray wolves have been killed in those states in the 118 days since being removed from the list. Someone had mentioned hearing about the relisting at the writers' meeting today and i had to run and look it up to see if the good news was true. I'm a very happy Lakota right now.

To highlight the results of removing them from the endangered list, i found this article by Derek Goldman where he comments:

"It’s been about three months since wolves in the Northern Rockies were removed from the protection of the Endangered Species Act. To date, at least 20 wolves have been reported killed in Wyoming, where they may legally be shot on sight. That’s an average of one wolf killed every four and half days. Five of these wolves were shot in Wyoming during the first weekend after delisting, with local bloggers bragging about their success:
